As we embark on our 18th annual tournament, we are actively recruiting committed, passionate and driven youth to join the organizing team - also known as the Dream Team!
The Dream Team, a group of 50+ individuals, is the backbone and foundation of MIST. Coming together as volunteers from vast backgrounds. Each member contributes unique ideas, talents, and inspirations that make MIST a one-of-a-kind event. As an organization that strives for continual growth and improvement, we are currently seeking diverse perspectives and expertise that we believe you can bring to the table to make MIST 2025 the best one yet!
Dream Team Positions

Duties
In charge of a certain amount of competitions
Recruit professionals in their respective field to judge specific competitions
Recruit moderators to facilitate competition
Train judges as well as ensure they understand the rulebook and MyMist ballots
In charge of MyMist ballots and ensuring judges complete them
During the tournament, ensure MyMist has the final scores for each competition
Act as a customer service representative when any competition-related issues arise with competitors, coaches, and judges

Duties
Oversee the organization of engaging and meaningful workshops during the tournament
Have workshop ideas approved by the Nationals board
Create innovative and engaging workshops
Help create marketing materials to generate interest in the workshops before the tournament
Host workshops monthly leading up to the tournament

3-4 hours/week and about 5-6 hours/week closer to the tournament

Duties
Establish contacts with schools, and ambassadors
Respond to emails from ambassadors and competitors
Act as a liaison between MIST and coaches
Main contact for coaches and teams during the days of MIST
Set up and track a spirit point tracker before and during the tournament
Make sure that all teams meet competitions requirements once registration closes

Duties
Find events where we can advertise MIST
Manage Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Tik Tok
Act as primary PR representative for MIST Toronto
Responsible for ensuring media presence before, during, and after the MIST Tournament
Advertise Spirit Competitions, along with Outreach, Registration, and Awards
Create a trailer for MIST

Duties
Manage graphic design requirements from all members of the MIST team
Create a streamlined aesthetic for the current MIST year.

Duties
Create the materials for a new MIST package for new schools along with the graphic design team
Organize MIST Outreach school-visit events, where schools can sign up for a visit from a MIST Exec
Create streamlined presentations for MIST Outreach events
Recruit at least 10 brand new schools to MIST
Create a streamlined process for all Registration Organizers to use when establishing contacts with new schools
Use Spirit competitions as incentive to bring new schools in, along with marketing and registration
Create and implement a scholarship program to bring lower income students to the event

Maintain existing relationships with previous sponsors
Developing and maintaining relationships with businesses and organizations in the GTA
Communicating the benefits of a partnership with MIST Toronto to potential sponsors and donors

Organize and run a talent show over the course of MIST weekend
