MIST TORONTO IS ALL ABOUT SPIRIT
Here at MIST, we love competitions, but not as much as we love spirit! We’ve got a whole suite of awards to recognise your character, hype, and overall MISTification.
How it works
Spirit Awards are divided into two categories:
1. Spirit Points - spirit points are gained by participating in pre-MIST competitions, workshops and MIST Zone competitions. The top 3 schools are recognised.
2. MISTified Awards - these awards are presented to schools that shine in various categories. Below, you’ll find more details about both types of Spirit Awards. MISTified awards do not get earned by spirit points
Note that Spirit Points and MISTified Awards do not count towards competition points or overall school rankings. The awards listed below are subject to change for MIST 2024.
Spirit Points
Pre-MIST Competitions
Pre-MIST competitions are mini-challenges that you can complete in the month leading up to MIST. These might include submitting videos of your team’s tournament preparations or being engaged with MIST through social media. Check out the panel on the right for details on the current challenge.
Workshops
MIST workshops are an excellent way to learn and broaden your perspectives on pressing topics. Attending and participating in these is a great way to earn spirit points.
MIST Zone Competitions
Participate in mini-competitions at MIST Zone to win points, and chat with Dream Team members while you’re at it!
MISTified Awards
Most MISTified
This team might not have made it big this year, but they definitely left their mark. They have the energy, spirit and motivation to be MIST champions- a team that’s small in number but big in heart and passion!
Most Loyal
Which team will prove that THEY are the most loyal to MIST? Show us your loyalty by registering early, showing up on time, attending workshops and respecting norms and procedures.
Best Overall Character
Which team will embody the truest ‘Islamic’ character and will be shining examples for all to follow? This is a team that carry themselves with respect and dignity and are the first to lend a helping a hand. They take initiative, have awesome attitude and to top it off, are always smiling. Which team will be loved based on how they act and not how they perform?
Most Supportive
This school is the kindest and most inclusive. From chanting along with other schools, amplifying the voices of smaller schools, and showing their support whenever and however they can; this school is the embodiment of muslim commodity.
Chant-Off Champions
The best cheers are original, catchy and worth repeating. What cheer will be stuck in everyone’s head long after MIST is over? while also abiding by the rules set out by the dream team - specifically on gender segregation!
Rookie of the Year
This school is new to the game, but they aren’t coming slow. They may be a small pack but their voice and spirit chants will be stuck in your head. They have embraced MIST values through their dedication to the competitions.
Best Dressed
Don’t just show up with spirit, show up in style. You’ve shown us some pretty amazing team uniforms in the past, but who will rock the MIST runway this year?
This school has also perfected business casual. They are all put together, professional and ready to take on MIST. The students can be easily identified through their creatively coordinated outfits. They stand out amongst all other schools and everyone will be talking about their team spirit all.
Five-Star Flag
A team’s flag is often the first thing you see, and the first impression should always be the best one. Which team will have a banner that they will fly high with pride?
Note: All banners are to be prepared BEFORE MIST and brought with you to the tournament.
Kindness Award
An individual that shows a caring attitude, is always welcoming, is friendly, and shows a great amount of respect and value to all members at MIST.
Most Spirited Individual
This individual is the hype person of their school. They get the chants started and will have definitely lost their voice by the first night. They encourage a love and passion for MIST that is felt by everyone around them.
Most Outstanding Ambassador
An individual who is the heart and soul behind their school making it to MIST. An individual who has shown great commitment and excellent communication of MIST logistics to their school. They have worked tirelessly to make MIST the best experience for each of the students on their team.
Most Enthusiastic Coach
Which coach will have the most school spirit? This is a coach who’ll pump up the team to win and provide motivation when the team is down. Someone who’s dependable, supportive and a source of inspiration for all.

Rules:
Schools must use the hashtag #MISTofficialTO24 to earn points
Make sure to keep it halal (appropriate)
All accounts need to be public to earn points
One video submission per day
They cannot be the same
Scoring: 300 per video, bonus points for creativity!
